****************************************
The PROBLEM:
1) Not enough High Schools students going overseas for study abroad programs short or long term.
2) imbalance within the post-secondary community by race. Latinos and African Americans lag in study abroad participation.
3) Poverty levels are increasing in the Bronx.
4) Educational higher thinking standards are decreasing in the Bronx
5) Increase high school drop-outs
6) Decreased college entrances
7) Increased blue collar workers in this Bronx
8) Decreased white collar workers in the Bronx...those that work as professionals...including graduate school careers...live in Manhattan and work in the Bronx)
10) Increasing cultural differences in many homes are not compatible to American lifestyle which has led to increased violence and decreased coping strategies.
11) There is no mindset of study abroad education opportunities in the working class neighborhood hispanic and black community when their first priority is getting food on the table everyday.
