What is a Homestay?
A "homestay" is a cultural exchange
in which a person visiting or temporarily staying in another country lives with
a family in the host country.

Homestays involve relationships between people and
should not be confused with a boarding-house or hotel experience in which a person
only rents a room.
A
homestay property is a non-commercialized, private residence that
accommodates paying guests who enjoy staying in the comfort &
security of a family home.
While students pay their own expenses for room and board, the
purpose of an INTERLINK homestay is not just to provide a place to stay but to
create an enriching learning experience for both the student and the host family.
There are homestays for short periods (one night or a weekend) and for longer
times (a vacation period, a term, several terms).
Homestays in the Past:
It's original idea was to provide safe, very affordable housing to traveling students for a period of time who could not afford commercial accommodations.
Homestay family were mostly traditional; (parents and children).
Today's Homestay:
As the economy has changed drastically these just recent years, so has the students homestay fees to compensate for the increasing home expenses. Quality homestays are no longer cheaper than commercial accommodations.
Traditional and non-traditional families, singles, couples, retirees are now part of the homestay program.
Today, the importance of actively hosting a student to experience and learn about each others local lifestyle and culture has become the priority for both the student and ourselves in a world where we must begin thinking about working together GLOBALLY to ensure "our" future on this earth in a peaceful manner.
This experience is priceless and one that merits the reason why traveling students, adults and professionals should continue to use homestays as one of their accommodation options.
What is Hosting at Americana Homestay?
The primary objective is to enrich the quality of a traveling student cultural experience while residing with us & taking language courses in New York City with our affiliated language schools.

Our Americana Homestay is a non-commercial residence and as a quality homestay provider, rest assured that all homestay fees goes back into the house that is home to many participating students.
Our Americana Homestay is a combination of family and staff which together provide a unique cultual experience that combines both home life, work life and community service all under one roof.
Our homestay is not just a place. It's headquarters for a very important mission...global understanding, communication practices, and of course World Peace.
