We are David and Elizabeth.
Welcome
We want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Your first day will be busy.

You will be meeting our staff, friends, family and other students.
You will be oriented on the subways and the neighborhoods.

The more you know how to get around and where everything is, the better for you to feel right at home and be part of the community.

This is a little bit about us.
David is a Carpenter by trade and enjoys mixed martial arts.
Elizabeth background consists of Banking, Finances and Management.
Founder of Nonprofit NYC BRONX ABROAD; currently on the IDEA stage.

Both of us work together full-time as Student Service Agents for traveling language students coming to NYC and within our community to better improve quality of life.

We are Native New Yorkers with 2 residences in The Bronx & 1 Upstate.
David is Puerto Rican American and Elizabeth is Cuban American. Our first language and the one we speak most of the time at home is ENGLISH.

We both have lived in other boroughs including Manhattan.
The Bronx has been HOME for over 25 years.

We live in a row Victorian house with Grandpa Andy, and Elizabeth's teen-age daughters, who also come with their share of adventures.
Grandpa is retired, has a sweet tooth, and loves TV soap operas.

We keep an apartment minutes from the house where we volunteer in the GARDENS courtyard gardens and have been for over 12 years.

David and Elizabeth own a small little country house on the river in Hancock NY
for weekend enjoyment with friends, family and students.

We are living the American reality.
We pay mortgages, rent, utilities, insurances, car payments, home improvements, credit card debt, school tuition and other expenses.
Yes, that is the American way of life and in moderation that is good.

Life for us is typical of a New York non-traditional family. We have extended family members of sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews with a mix of cultures.

A typical day for us consists of work, school, housekeeping, food shopping, budget & bills, cooking and just relaxing.

Our hosted students have learned a few things about balancing life & work and what the American dream is REALLY like.
